New Light Through Old Windows

100 bridal portraits revisited from weddings I photographed in 2019 and earlier.

I went back through my wedding archive and started pulling out photographs of the brides. Some were already portraits. Others were taken in the middle of the day, with someone beside them or a room full of people behind them.

I wondered what those photographs might look like in soft studio light. I used my original wedding photographs as the starting point for 100 black-and-white portraits, reimagined with AI-assisted editing.

Details from the day

Looking through the archive again, I kept coming back to the details. Zoe’s smile. The way Tammy held her bouquet. Kirsten’s tartan wrap. The layers of Timea’s black wedding dress. Those were the things I wanted the new portraits to hold on to.
